Bob Roberts has kindly sent a gallery of pictures taken by him whilst the build of Chris Orthodoxou's Apocalypse Pro Modified Dodge Viper took place at Eurodragster.com sponsor Robinson Race Cars.

Bob says ‘This was not a ground up build but rather a rebuild of Chris’s existing Pro Mod/Super Pro ET car to bring it up to current Pro Mod standards.

'This included making provision for a blown methanol engine and mounting a Mark Williams axle to handle the increased power. These upgrades meant there were many changes to both body and chassis as you can see in the pictures. The original body was modified with higher wheel humps and a new mould taken from it so a new carbon body could be made'.

At the rebuilt car's debut at the 2017 Mopar Euronationals, Chris said 'The chassis is modified to current NHRA spec with a 2015 Mike Janis engine with an updated injector hat which runs 5.8s in the US. The blower is a setback billet item and the trans is a Quick Drive Auto, with a Neal Chance convertor in front of a three speed B&J Big Boy gearbox and Pro-Bel can. The rear axle is a Mark Williams modular billet item. So it's an all new drivetrain'.

As Chris lives and works in Kazakhstan for much of the year, he has had to arrange his holiday to be at the events that he wanted to compete in. During 2018 and 2019 he competed in Competition Eliminator at the Main Event and Euro Finals, and in 2019 also competed at the Doorslammers where he reached the semi-final of VP Racing Fuels Pro Doorslammer, running a PB time of 6.2295/220.04.
